Begur Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Mananthavady in Wayanad. It lies on the mountain plateau along the Western Ghats. It is a beautiful place covered with dense forests which houses a wide variety of flora and fauna. Some of the trees here are believed to have medicinal properties. The animals found here include elephants, deer, tigers, leopards, etc. During monsoon season, this area become water logged and this attracts many wild animals. So the best time to visit here is between the months December and May.
