Thommankuthu waterfall is a small and beautiful waterfall that is situated near Thodupuzha in Idukki district. This waterfall is named after a tribal leader named Thomman who was washed away in this waterfall while crossing the river. This waterfall has seven steps and cascades down from a height of 1500 m. The difference between the first and the last fall is 500 m. An important feature of this waterfall is that at each step of the fall a pool is formed.
This location is ideal for adventurous activities such as trekking, rock climbing etc. Some other activities which the people can engage in include boating in the lake, horse riding and fishing. There are many caves surrounding the waterfalls.
