A virtual queue system to visit the Sabarimala temple during the pilgrim season was approved by the Kerala High Court. The Mandalapooja festive season in Sabarimala started on 17th November 2011. This virtual queue system was proposed by the Kerala Police in order to manage the crowd of the pilgrims at Sabarimala thereby saving time also. The devotees need not wait for hours in the queue for the darshan when registrations are made. They will be also allotted a time. The pilgrims can now make the registrations online by registering their names for Ayyappa darshan through Kerala Police website. This service is free of cost and need no payments. It is important to note that by booking online one is not assured of the darshan, instead they have to join the queue at Nadapanthal. The registered pilgrim has to take a printout of the registration coupon and this along with an Identity card used during registration process has to be taken during the darshan. This coupon and ID card are verified by the Police and make the pilgrim wait in a separate queue. Only those devotees who come to Sabarimala with Irumudikettu can make the online registrations.
The print out of the registration (Q-Coupon) and Identity Card used during registration process must be carried during Darshan for Police verification.Children below the age of 15 do not require an Identity card but a photograph is a must. The photo must be uploaded while registration through online and it must be in JPEG format having size less than 30 KB.
